BCC TAKES STEPS TO ADDRESS WATER WOES
With the city facing inadequate water supply in the wake of prevailing drought due to poor rainfall, Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) approved a Rs 2.82 crore contingency plan taking an unanimous decision to tackle drinking water related issue. BCC, during its general body meeting chaired by Mayor Sarita Patil, approved the plan to address the water crises faced by the city. The agenda over drinking water problems came for discussion, the members also highlighted about the acute water storage faced by the people.
They alleged that drain and drinking water was getting mixed up in several wards due to which wells and borewells have got contaminated and urged the civic body to immediately address the issues. To supply pure drinking water to citizens they took a measure and said to form a repair team for wells and borewells to every ward to monitor regular supply of water.
