This time Belagavi drops to 25th spot in SSLC results,whereas Chikodi in top three.
Sumit Kakti from Herwadkar School stood first to the district with 99.36%, whereas Praneet Mugali from St. Pauls excelled in the SSLC examinations with 98.56%.
While Chikodi Educational District maintained its position among top six districts by securing 80.47 pass percentage. Belagavi Educational District has slipped from 14th position (in 2016) to 25th position with 71.2 pass percentage.
According to Belagavi Educational District officials 30,817 students had appeared for the examinations of which 21,942 passed. Of this 15,968 boys had appeared of which 66.46% while of 14,849 girls who appeared 11,329 passed with 76.29 pass percentage.
Deputy Director of Public Instruction Gajanan said among Moodalgi, Gokak, Nippani Raibag, Chikkodi, Kagwad, Athani blocks in Chikkodi district, Moodalgi and Gokak topped the State with highest pass percentage of 94.16% and 90.78% respectively.
The average pass percentage of the State dropped by 8% which also its impact on the educational district. Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Belagavi Educational District A B Pundalik said special workshop, training programmes would be provided to teachers to improve the district position & pass percentage.
