Karnataka Government has come up with new form of providing emergency service to the patients. It is called Bike Ambulance. Due to heavy traffic many patients will not get the first aid treatment, to reduce such incidents government has launched a two wheeler, this service will be inaugurated on 15th April by the hands of Hon’ble chief minister Siddaramaiah.
This bike will have facilities like medicine kit, oxygen cylinder and other necessary medical equipments which are required in first aid. Public can call on 108 to avail this service as Emergency Management and Research Institute is managing the services of the same.
This bike consists of Siren, Blue Lamp, Announcement Mike and a single seat. Bikers are identified by the reflector jacket, they will have ISI helmet.
How these ambulance work – They will go to the patients for the first aid, depends on the condition of the patient further actions will be taken such as call to 108 four wheeler etc.
Karnataka is the first state to launch this kind of service in the country. In the first stage there will be 20 bikes in Bengaluru and including Hubballi, Mysore and Belagavi 10 bikes will be on road to provide the service from April 15.
