District administration falls flat with their enforcement
The district administration has failed as far as the city is concerned. Despite of implementation of revised auto rikhshaws fares by meter readings, as many as autos are not adhering to Meter rule and other norms implemented during the recently held Road Transport Authority (RTA) meeting. There seems to be flaws in enforcement by the district administration. Auto drivers are charging as they want even if the passenger insist to charge as per the meter readings. They down the meters to show the police but again charge as per their negotiation with passenger. Even though police dept has deployed staff in the prepaid counters but are unable to print the tickets due to substandard quality computers and other equipments provided. Auto drivers are parking the vehicles wherever they want. Police officials are claiming that they have been cracking on autos with violation of rules, according to them they are not getting enough co-operation from the transportation department officials, While speaking to the reporter Deputy commissioner of police Anupam Agarwal said that they have been imposing heavy fine on Violators .People also need to oppose drivers charging extra and stop paying extra and file a case against them at the police department. He also warned that failure of auto drivers in adhering to the norm can take away their permits.
