Garbanzo Beans (Chole)
1 (16 ounce) can garbanzo beans
1 tablespoon ghee or 1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, roughly diced
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/2 cup tomato, diced
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 Saut onions, add garlic and ginger in ghee.
2 Fry for about 5 minutes.
3 Add tomatoes, and cumin, coriander, turmeric and chili powders, and salt to taste.
4 Cook for another 5 minutes.
5 Add garbanzo beans, boil for a few minutes.
6 Add garam masala, let mixture simmer.
7 Remove from stove.
8 Serve garnished with coriander leaves and lemon slices.
