Kisan Suvidha center launched; nearby farmers can order fertilizer online
Research and development in the field of agriculture is reaching only 30% of farmer in the country and many have not adopted advanced technology in farming lamented former mayor Siddanagouda Patil .He said that initiative to educate farmers should be taken up through Kisan Suvidha Centers.
He was speaking after inaugurating the first Kisan Suvadha Center a Union government initiative, in Belagavi and IFFCO Bazaar of Indian Farmer Fertilizer’s cooperative ltd at APMC in Belagavi on Wednesday. Vyankatraman Raddy Patil, joint director, agriculture department, said that over 400 lakh tones of fertilizer is being used in India in which urea has a share of around 2 lakh tones. “Fertilizers should be used according to the requirement after testing the soil. But traditional farmer are using excess fertilizers which makes fertile land barren,” he said
Through the center farmer can discuss problems related to agricultural practices with suggest solutions. It also facilitates free soil testing IFFCO Bazaar will provide all fertilizers, micro-nutrients agro chemicals seeds and bio fertilizers of IFFCO. Farmers in radius of 15km of the center can book fertilizers, chemicals and seeds online on www.iffcobazaar.in or www.3111967.in. The items will be delivered to their home without shipping charges if the amount is paid online. “We have plans to open five new centers in taluk headquarters,” said C S patil. State sales manager, IFFCO.
