Once in school he was asked to do best out of waste and he created penguins from broken eggs. During his schooling he always made colorful paintings. This changed when unfortunately he lost his father in the year 2010, after which Pratik only did black n white portraits. His portraits depicted the grief and the depression he was in. His mother and grandmother and two sisters helped him overcome this and as the phrase goes, life must go on, he turned to colors again. Despite the responsibility of the family’s goldsmith business on his shoulders, he always had the urge to be creative in his own way. Pratik was always fascinated with art, such as watercolor painting. However, he soon discovered his true aptitude lay in creating micro art forms pencil. He later explored the option of carving on wood crafting and icecream sticks instantly fell in love with the medium.
Pratik’s work first comes across as too good to be done by someone with no formal training in sculpting, but once you see him in action you realize that it is his pure passion and the drive to create something astounding that pushes his skills ever higher. He delights in the finer details, his work subtly reminding us that there is importance, gravitas and beauty in even the littlest of little things when we’re always so busy looking at the big picture. Pratik believes actual richness is when the art work touches the heart of a common man. Only then the work of that artist is worth while.
