Shops were closed for semis
India is a religious country and cricket is the biggest religion and passion. This passion could be seen in today’s semifinal when India was playing against Australia, but it was not the fight between only these two teams, one more team was playing outside and that is Indian team supporters. Today Sydney stadium was houseful with over 75% of Indians supporting the team.
Since early morning everyone was in front of the TV to support Indian team. No one wanted to miss any moment of the match. From the toss till the end of the match supporters were cheering for the team. Effect of this can be seen on the daily business, because most of the shops in Belagavi were closed due to semifinal between India and Australia. Kirloskar road (in picture) which is always crowed by people was looking empty.
Unfortunately India could not make it to the finals but hats off to such Indian supporters who close their daily business just for a cricket match.
