SSLC students, their parents look anxious
Secondary School Leaving Certification (SSLC) annual examinations commenced in Belagavi district on Thursday.
On day-1, both students and parents were seen rushing towards the examination centers more than an hour in advanced to locate their block and seat numbers.
Anxious parents were seen helping their wards search the blocks and seat and instilling confidence in them to keep exam fear at bay. They advised them to concentrate on writing the answer and believe in their strength and hard work
Examination center had kept the block locked to ensure that mischievous students and others do not wipe the student registration numbers written on benches or change them to facilitate unscrupulous elements. Gates leading to the examination blocks were opened at about 8:45 am at all examination centers that led to mad rush of parents and students to search the blocks and seats.
Most of the examination centers have closed circuit television cameras installed to prevent examination malpractices inside the blocks.
Police personnel outside the centers too ensured that baring students and authorized personnel, others do not make near the examination blocks and create problems or disturbances to those students writing their examination.
2,109 students remain absent
A total of 2,109 students remained absent for the first language paper of secondary school leaving certificate examination in Belagavi and Chikkodi educational districts on the first day of the examination on Thursday.
In Belagavi educational district, 31,615 students had enrolled for the examination and 30,874 appeared, while 741 remained absent. Among the 39,942 students enrolled to appear for the examination in Chikkodi educational district, 38,574 appeared while 1,368 remained absent on Thursday.
