Tourists prohibited at dudhsagar
South western railway has released a circular in which it is been stated that traveling to dudhsagar by railway or by trekking is banned as it is not safe place for the visitors.
Recently few visitors have pelted stones on the railway, few tried to step on the railway engine and this could create problem for the people who are traveling by railway. For technical reasons railways halt at dudhsagar falls. There isn’t any station for visitors at the falls.
Circular also says that people visit the falls by trekking , or by catching some express. But while returning they have to catch trains coming from Goa. If visitors at the falls do not get chance to board on the train then stone pelting incidents take place. Hence keeping passengers safety in mind trekking alongside of the track and boarding on the train at dudhsagar will be considered as offense under railway act.
